UITs and wraps
Light tour: unit investment trusts and wrap-style packaging — know the words. Education only — not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything.
UIT in one breath
A unit investment trust typically holds a relatively fixed portfolio for a set term and issues redeemable units. Less “active trading inside” than many mutual funds — still market risk on holdings.
Wrap accounts (concept)
- Bundled advisory + trading services for a fee (often asset-based).
- Ask what is included, what conflicts exist, and how fees stack.
- This track teaches vocabulary — not whether a wrap is “good.”
Shared literacy questions
- What do I own underneath?
- What does it cost all-in?
- How do I exit?
- Who gets paid if I stay?
Practice tip: Keep cost skepticism sharp via Fees & spreads.
