Delayed educational marks — chart vocabulary
Not investment advice. Educational chart vocabulary only. This page does not tell you to buy, sell, or hold anything. Delayed marks on the Lab are for literacy practice with fake balances — not live trading, not alerts, not broker quotes you should act on. Markets involve risk of loss. Delayed or incomplete data can be wrong. Voltron Trading Lab is not a broker, advisor, or exchange.
Data source: When a mark appears on Mock / Charts, the screen must name the vendor or feed (or “Lab schematic / stub” if none).
Delay: Approximate latency must appear next to the mark (e.g. ~15–20 min · end-of-day · exchange delay · “example only” · “Coming Soon — no live chain”).
Practice context: FAKE MONEY only.
Operator desk / Amazon Associates experiment: thevoltron.com.
Why “delayed” matters
A mark is just a displayed last / mid / reference price the Lab shows for education. “Delayed” means the number is not guaranteed real-time.
| You might see | Plain meaning |
|---|---|
| Last | Most recent trade the feed reported (may be stale) |
| Bid / ask | Indicative quotes from the feed’s rules — definitions vary by vendor |
| Mark / mid | A reference the Lab uses for paper P&L — still FAKE MONEY |
On this site, marks teach how panels are labeled. They do not authorize an order in the real world.
Label rule (every chart or quote chip)
Every educational mark block should show, in plain text:
- Source — who provided the number (or “schematic / not a live feed”)
- Delay — how stale it is allowed to be
- Context — FAKE MONEY practice · Not investment advice
If any of those three is missing, treat the number as a drawing, not a quote.

Multi-asset stubs (…16k) — futures · FX · bonds
The practice hub may show doors for futures, forex, and cash bonds. Those doors are vocabulary / FAKE MONEY stub practice. We do not invent live futures chains, live FX books, or a cash-bond inventory.
| Desk stub | What a “mark” may mean here | Required label extras |
|---|---|---|
| Futures | Contract last / settle-style reference if a delayed edu feed exists later; until then schematic or “no live chain” | Name contract / month if shown · source + delay · FAKE MONEY · not a broker quote |
| Forex (FX) | Pair mid / indicative print if delayed edu marks appear; until then stub / Coming Soon labeling | Name pair · pip/point is vocabulary only · source + delay · not executable FX |
| Bonds | Bond ETF stub marks (if any) vs cash bonds Coming Soon | Say ETF stub vs cash bond · source + delay · no invented bond inventory |
Hard rules for stubs
- Same three-part label: source · delay · FAKE MONEY / NIA
- Never imply the Lab routes futures/FX/cash-bond orders
- Tutor Learn payoffs: What is a future? · What is forex? · What is a bond?
- Chartist deep-link for “why is this late / missing?” stays this page

What this page deliberately does not do
- No “trade the delayed print” instructions
- No alerts-as-advice or real-time signal framing
- No invented live futures / FX / cash-bond chains
- No paid data-vendor upsell without Mad King OK via Ceo 2.0
- Associates stay on thevoltron.com only
Practice desk: /mock/ — FAKE MONEY only.
Quick self-check
- Can you explain delayed vs real-time without recommending a trade?
- Can you refuse to trust a mark that lacks source + delay?
- Can you tell futures / FX / bond stubs from live broker quotes?
- Can you say: Lab marks are for fake-money literacy; past ≠ future?
